So here is the story so far...
Wednesday, March 18, 2009 - Our first trip to the cardiologist for an echo of Owen's heart. We waited for about an hour and a half before going back to see the doctor. The nurse made our wait up to us by taking 3-D pictures. Wow, the technology is amazing. We got to see him moving around in 3-D for about 5 minutes. The doctor took many pictures of his heart and everything looked good for now. We did schedule a follow-up to remeasure the symmetry of his ventricles in about 6 weeks. The doctor said not to worry at this point - we'll see how they measure then. His heart measured big but his weight measured a little below average - I told Amie we had "A little man with a BIG heart!"

Wednesday, February 4, 2009 - Found out that Amie was correct - it's a boy! We had been coming up with names for a while and we decided to try pulling a first and middle name out of a hat. Didn't work. We kept pulling names out until we got the one we wanted - Owen James
O'Kane.

Sunday, January 18, 2009 - Sneak peak at the Vet's office. We won't mention our accomplices but we spent a good hour trying to figure out what was showing on the monitor while Amie was laying where hours earlier Rover had laid. News travels fast in Washington and we had
a lot of people laughing at our next trip to the
OBGYN.
Tuesday,
November 18, 2008 - We heard the baby's heart beat for the first time - 183 beats per minute. Amie knew it was a boy, I knew it was a girl.

Sunday, November 2, 2008 - Trip to the emergency room, Amie wasn't feeling well and wanted to get checked out. After about 4 hours of waiting, our nerves were settled - everyone was okay.
Tuesday, October 28, 2008 - After feeling "funny" for a couple day, Amie picks up a test from the Dollar Tree and after confirmation from Beth and Stephanie, she decide to call me on my way home from work. Let's just say, I'll never forget the trip home that Tuesday!
